Akito Natsuki is a 29-year-old single office worker who has spent years trying to forget his feelings for his sister-in-law, Miyuri Natsuki. After his parents' deaths, Akito's only remaining family is his older brother. Miyuri eventually marries Akito's brother, leaving Akito heartbroken and causing him to leave his hometown and abandon his university studies. Years later, an extended summer vacation gives Akito an opportunity to return home. When he arrives, he is reunited with Miyuri, as well as Sayoko Asatsuyu, a widow who has looked after him since he was young and has become one of his closest confidantes. Akito has never completely overcome his feelings for Miyuri, and his return brings those emotions back to the surface. At the same time, his reunion with Sayoko and other women from his past creates new romantic possibilities. Among the other important characters is Ai Jinno, a talented student whom Akito knew during childhood, and her mother Sumire Jinno, a shrine priestess who is protective of her daughter and initially distrustful of Akito. As the summer progresses, Akito's relationships with these women develop in different directions depending on the player's choices. The game takes place over a single summer month and uses a relatively simple system in which players choose locations and activities to spend time with their preferred heroines. These decisions gradually determine the relationships, events, routes, and ultimately the ending of the story.
